Here is an interesting link to a site about male librarians and their image within society...

This is a great resource, Melissa and I look forward to studying it more. I would like to think that based on the example of our current male classmates that they have a lot to contribute to the field of librarianship in ways that most people have not stopped to think of. Perhaps as they grown in their professional careers they will have a significant impact on how libraries make choices for their collections and acquistions.

This looks like a wonderful resource! Honestly, when I think about the stereotypical images of librarians, I never think about male librarians. Perhaps this is because I have never met a male librarian in my local libraries, or perhaps I am falling into the typical pitfall of subconsciously stereotyping librarians as women. I definitely want to take a look at the Cullen and DeCandido articles about the fictional Rupert Giles. Thank you for opening my eyes!
